In the summer of 2020, the Hungarian Brass was formed, with which our dream of creating a young Hungarian brass band came true. The formation consists of four trumpets, five trombones, a horn, a tuba. Almost every member of the ensemble studied or still studying or working in Germany, including Berlin, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Hanover, Karlsruhe, Mannheim and Munich.
Another common point in the lives of many of us is that we went mainly to two conservatories in Hungary, Leo Weiner Conservatory in Budapest and Artistic Highschool Pécs. Although this form debuted for the first time on stage in the summer 2020, we’ve played music together in various line-ups before and have been cultivating close friendships for years.
We can be proud of several successful competitions in Hungary and on the international stage, and we have already performed in such large orchestras as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Münchner Symphoniker, the Stuttgart and Frankfurt Radio Orchestra or the Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Mannheim National Opera Orchestras, or the Dutch Philharmonic Orchestra either in an internship position or in full-time job.
Our repertoire, thanks to the formation, is very wide and covers almost all genres of music. We are present in almost every style of classical music, from Bach to contemporary music, and we also prefer to draw from lighter genres like film music and jazz.
Our goal is clearly to bring people closer to brass music, both at home and abroad, and to entertain them and us as well.
