Horn

Márton Kóródi was born in 1998 in Budapest. He started his musical educations as 9 years old was. First, he played the tenor horn and after two years changed for the french horn. From 2013 until 2017 he was studying in the Leó Weiner Conservatory. His teacher were Zoltán Varga and Tamás Gáspár.

In the Conservatory he participated successfully on several national and international competitions. In 2015 and 2016 he was the member of the Verbier Festival Youth Orchestra. He was also the member from the Orchestra of the Conservatories from Budapest on the Jubilee concert from Palace of Arts (Budapest). He played several times with the Budapest Stringorchestra und worked with different Reed and Brass Bands.

On the I. ’In Medias Brass’ Chamber Music Festival and Competition for Brass Ensembles he won the 1st prize with the Weiner Quintett. 2016 he played the fourth Horn Concerto from W.A. Mozart with the Budapest Stringorchestra and few months later with the Philharmonic Orchestra from Prague.


From 2017 to 2021 he studied in the class of Szabolcs Zemplén at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen and at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. With his preparation, he won second place at the 41st Brass and Percussion Meeting and Competition organized by the Faculty of Music of the University of Debrecen, and won his age group at the 12th 2019 International Brass Competition in Brno.


From September 2021 he is studying at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, in the class of Mees Vos. In the saison 2022/23 he was the academist of the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and Netherlands Chamber Orchestra.
